Olympus OM-PC

✎ Edit this page

The Olympus OM-PC was an entry-level 35mm SLR camera introduced in 1985, designed as an extremely affordable introduction to the OM system. This simplified camera featured program-only exposure control, removing manual settings to focus entirely on ease of use for amateur photographers. Despite its basic operation, the OM-PC maintained the compact, lightweight design philosophy that made the OM system famous, while offering compatibility with the full range of Zuiko lenses. The camera's electronic program mode automatically selected appropriate exposure settings, while its clear viewfinder and simple controls made it ideal for beginners. As one of the most affordable cameras in the OM lineup, the OM-PC successfully democratized access to Olympus's renowned optical quality and compact SLR design during the mid-1980s camera market.
