Nikon F90X
The Nikon F90X (N90s in North America), introduced in 1994, was an enhanced version of the F90 that incorporated improved autofocus and metering systems for demanding photography applications. This advanced 35mm SLR featured upgraded 3D Matrix metering, faster and more accurate autofocus with enhanced predictive tracking, and comprehensive exposure modes including program, aperture-priority, shutter-priority, and manual control. The F90X's robust construction maintained the excellent build quality of its predecessor while adding refinements based on user feedback. Key improvements included enhanced custom functions, better low-light autofocus performance, improved flash control, and compatibility with the full range of AF and AI Nikkor lenses. The camera was targeted at serious amateur photographers and semi-professionals who needed advanced capabilities for challenging shooting conditions. The F90X became particularly popular among wildlife and sports photographers for its reliable autofocus tracking and sophisticated metering capabilities.
