Nikon F401
The Nikon F401, introduced in 1987, was an entry-level autofocus SLR designed to make advanced photography accessible to amateur photographers. This compact 35mm camera featured automatic exposure with program, aperture-priority, and manual modes, along with Nikon's reliable autofocus system. The F401's lightweight plastic construction and simplified controls made it user-friendly while maintaining compatibility with AF and AI Nikkor lenses. Key features included built-in motor drive, automatic film loading and advance, and a bright viewfinder with focus confirmation. The camera incorporated a pop-up flash and various scene modes to help beginners achieve better results.
