Mamiya DSX
✎ Edit this pageThe Mamiya DSX, introduced in 1975, was Mamiya's entry into the competitive 35mm SLR market, representing a departure from their medium format heritage. This camera featured an innovative modular design with interchangeable viewfinders and focusing screens, bringing medium format flexibility to the 35mm format. The DSX incorporated a reliable mechanical shutter with speeds from 1 second to 1/1000, plus bulb mode, and offered both manual and semi-automatic exposure modes. Compatible with the extensive Mamiya/Sekor lens system, it provided excellent optics rivaling established 35mm manufacturers. While less commercially successful than Mamiya's medium format cameras, the DSX demonstrated the company's engineering capabilities and commitment to modular camera systems across all formats.
