The Fujica AX-1 is a 35mm SLR camera introduced in the late 1970s as part of Fuji's AX series, designed to offer amateur photographers accessible SLR functionality with modern features. This camera features aperture-priority automatic exposure with LED viewfinder indicators, manual exposure override, and accepts Fujinon X-mount lenses. The AX-1 includes a built-in light meter with center-weighted metering pattern and offers shutter speeds from 1 second to 1/1000s, plus bulb mode. With its solid construction, reliable meter system, and compatibility with Fuji's excellent lens lineup, the AX-1 provided photography enthusiasts with a capable and affordable entry into the SLR market during the competitive camera boom of the late 1970s.
