FED Micron 2
✎ Edit this pageThe FED Micron 2 is a compact 35mm rangefinder camera produced by the Ukrainian FED camera factory, representing the Soviet Union's attempt to create an affordable, portable camera for amateur photographers. This diminutive camera features a coupled rangefinder focusing system, built-in light meter, and typically came equipped with an Industar or similar Soviet-made lens. The Micron 2 offered automatic exposure control and manual override, making it accessible to casual users while providing some control for more experienced photographers. Despite its basic construction and sometimes inconsistent quality control typical of Soviet-era cameras, the Micron 2 provided an economical entry point into rangefinder photography for Eastern European markets.
